During this trip I was fortunate enough to collect Isoëtes with the Quillwort master himself, Carl Taylor. We hunted Isoëtes throughout western North America for a project that I started while I was an undergrad working at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. This project focused on the evolutionary history of a reticulate complex in the genus. We collected multiple individuals of three species and four hybrids for DNA sequencing and chromosome counting. For a more detailed read of the project check out our research!
