STRUCTURE FUNCTION EVOLUTION

Jacob Suissa

About Me

I am a plant evolutionary biologist focused on how structures are formed, how they function, and how they have evolved across deep time. To answer these questions I study ferns, a diverse clade with over 11,000 species and a roughly 400-million-year history. My work integrates topics ranging from morphology, anatomy, and physiology to character evolution, biogeography, and diversification.

In addition to my work as a scholar, I am also an avid nature photographer and science communicator.
